Adept Technology makes "intelligent automation hardware," or, for the sci-fi fan in all of us: robots. Its robots are designed to handle, assemble, test, inspect, and package products in the electronics, food processing, automotive component, and pharmaceutical industries. Adept Technology's line of robots replicate the movements of human shoulders, elbows, and wrists. The company also makes vision guidance and inspection systems, as well as software that allows operators to control robots from a PC. Adept Technology targets Global 1000 companies, selling its products through more than 200 system integrators, a direct sales force, and OEMs.
