One of the world's largest commercial printers, Quebecor World prints books, catalogs, direct mail, directories, magazines, and retail inserts. Magazines and retail inserts together account for more than half of the company's sales. Quebecor World maintains more than 115 printing plants and related facilities, primarily in the US and Canada, but also in Latin America, and India. Its customers have included publishers such as Hearst, McGraw-Hill, and Time, along with retailers such as Kohl's, Sears, and Wal-Mart. Quebecor Inc. is the controlling shareholder of Quebecor World with a roughly 85% voting stake and a 36% equity stake in the company. Quebecor World filed for bankruptcy in January 2008.
