Jilin Chemical Industrial Company Limited (JCIC) could write the book for Chemistry 101. The company is one of China's leading producers of basic chemicals and chemical raw materials. JCIC produces and sells petroleum products (accounting for nearly half of the company's revenue), petrochemical and organic chemical products (about 45% of revenue), and synthetic rubber products. After much wrangling and restructuring involving state-owned corporations and agencies, PetroChina (itself a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation) now controls about two-thirds of Jilin Chemical.
