Movies and theme parks are the center of Universal Studios' universe. The company's Universal Pictures produces and distributes mainstream movies (Mamma Mia!), while its Focus Features produces smaller-budget films (Burn After Reading). Universal Studios also operates theme parks such as Universal Studios Hollywood through its Universal Parks & Resorts unit. Its Universal Studios Home Entertainment unit handles DVD and VHS marketing and distribution. Universal Studios previously operated as a part of Vivendi's entertainment assets (Vivendi UNIVERSAL Entertainment). Vivendi sold Universal to GE subsidiary NBC in 2004 to create NBC Universal.
