SEGA of America has segued from focusing on game consoles to the games themselves. The subsidiary of Japan-based SEGA Corporation used to scrap with Sony and Nintendo in the home console market, but production of its Dreamcast consoles was halted in early 2001 due to sluggish sales. SEGA of America now makes games for PCs, wireless devices, and consoles such as the Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and Microsoft Xbox360. Its better known titles include releases in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, as well as games based on comic books such as Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. Parent company SEGA Corporation joined forces with Sammy Corporation in 2004, forming Sega Sammy.
