Tivoli Software gets its clients' fragmented IT systems into the cooperative spirit. A subsidiary of IBM, Tivoli helps its clients consolidate different IT products and systems (i.e. software applications, databases, servers, and networks) into a unified system; the improved system enables centralized management and monitoring of data, networks, disaster recovery incidences, IT security, and applications. The company also offers asset management, security, storage, and other software, as well as custom design services. It serves various government agencies and commercial industries, including aerospace, financial services, energy, and transportation. Tivoli was founded in 1989; IBM acquired the company in 1996.
