If you're absolutely fabless, this is the company for you. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is the first and largest dedicated silicon foundry (contract semiconductor manufacturer) in the world, with 10 plants in Asia and one in the US. TSMC makes chips for hundreds of manufacturers, such as Freescale Semiconductor and NXP (which outsource to TSMC to boost capacity), and fabless semiconductor companies, such as Broadcom and NVIDIA (for whom TSMC makes whole product lines). The company gets more than half of its sales from customers in the US.
