MACC Private Equities is the MACC daddy of young business. It is a closed-end business development company, typically investing between $1 million and $4 million in small private firms. Its lead investment advisor is Eudaimonia Asset Management (EAM), which specializes in small- and micro-cap growth companies. The company sold most of its assets before it engaged EAM in 2008; its legacy portfolio is managed by InvestAmerica Investment Advisors, which became MACC's subadvisor. Entities associated with former chairman Benjamin Jiaravanon own about a third of the company.
