This company spells success with TV call letters. LIN TV owns and operates about 30 stations serving nearly 20 markets in about a dozen states. Its portfolio of stations includes affiliates with all the major networks -- mostly CBS and FOX -- as well as stations affiliated with smaller networks The CW Network and MyNetworkTV. Many of the company's stations operate as duopolies with two stations serving a single market. In addition, LIN TV owns 20% of a joint venture with NBC Universal parent General Electric that operates NBC stations in Dallas and San Diego.
