Alsco tells its clients, "It pays to keep clean," and then provides the uniforms, linens, and related products to achieve that goal. Operating from some 120 sites in 10 countries worldwide, the company (whose name stands for American linen supply company) supplies clean towels, linens, and uniforms to the medical and hospitality industries, among others. It also manufactures, rents, and sells uniforms, provides workplace restroom services, launders specialized garments, and manages gown rooms at high-tech sites. The company expanded in 2006 by buying the assets of National Linen and Uniform Service. Founded in 1889 by George Steiner, Alsco is owned and operated by the Steiner family.
