IGEN International uses big words to make an impression. The company's medical diagnostic systems detect biological substances using its ORIGEN technology. IGEN's M-Series and other screening instruments are used by hospitals, universities, and research and industrial laboratories for disease screening, drug development, and genetic testing and research; they are also used in industrial food and water processing and animal health applications. IGEN is being bought by Roche, a company with which IGEN had been involved in a grueling legal dispute.
