Once upon a time, BT Group's rivals could have fit into one of the company's signature red phone booths. Though competition has taken a toll, BT Group still wears the crown as the UK's top telecommunications carrier with about 15 million customers. BT Group offers local and long-distance phone service and provides Internet access and other data and IT services. Major corporate clients are served by its BT Global Services division (which also accounts for most international business), while its Retail division oversees consumer services. Its BT Wholesale and Openreach divisions address the broadband and local network needs of other carriers. BT Group operates primarily in the UK, but its empire spans 170 countries.
