The Charmer Sunbelt Group is one of the biggest swigs in its business sector. A leading wine and spirits wholesaler, the company operates through a number of joint ventures and subsidiaries including Empire Industries (New York), Premier Beverage (Florida), Reliable Churchill (Maryland), and Ben Arnold Beverage (South Carolina). Charmer Sunbelt also distributes non-alcoholic products such as bottled water. Division management bought the group from McKesson (drugs and sundries wholesaler) and took it private in 1988. CEO Charles Merinoff is the grandson of founer Herman Merinoff.
