Pirelli & C. gets tired, but to them...that's hard work. The company describes itself as a "pure tyre" company (that's "tire" to the Yanks), since divesting its stake in Pirelli & C. Real Estate (now Prelios) and other non-core ventures to concentrate on its core tire business. Pirelli makes replacement and original equipment (OE) tires for passenger, motorsport, industrial, and commercial vehicles; motorcycles; and farm machinery at about 25 plants located in a dozen countries. Pirelli tires are OE on certain models of Maserati, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Known for its stylish media campaigns, Pirelli's famous calendar has revved more than a few motors. Giovanni Battista Pirelli formed the company in 1872.
