Couch potatoes are grateful to Heat and Control, a key link in the snack food chain. The company makes equipment to process and package baked and fried snacks, meat, poultry, and seafood. Its products include a single piece of machinery or several devices for a complete line -- conveyor systems to high-capacity spiral ovens and fryers -- can, for example, turn 50,000 pounds of potatoes into fries in an hour! Heat and Control also distributes Ishida's automatic weigh filler, saving labor and ingredients, as well as "green" systems for reducing air pollution, fuel, and water use. Founded in 1950, the company has grown to over 30 offices and plants worldwide. CEO Andrew Caridis and his family control the company.
