Lagardère is shedding its missiles in favor of media. The French conglomerate, whose primary holdings include media firm Lagardère Active (publisher of the French edition of Elle magazine, and owner of various TV, radio, and digital assets), has reduced its minority stake in #3 aerospace firm European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) to 7.5%. Other holdings consist of Lagardère Publishing (Hachette Livre book publishing, including subsidiaries Hachette UK and Hachette Book Group); Lagardère Services (press distribution and retail sales); and Lagardère Unlimited (sports media and marketing, event management, and artist and athlete representation). Lagardère has operations in more than 40 countries.
