Encyclopędia Britannica thinks it knows everything, and it probably does. In addition to its flagship 32-volume Encyclopędia Britannica (first published in 1768), the company publishes reference works (Great Books of the Western World), atlases (Britannica's Student Atlas), and other titles (The American Presidency). It publishes dictionaries (Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary) through its Merriam-Webster subsidiary. The company's Britannica Online School Edition is a reference site for students and teachers. Most of the company's products are available online (Britannica.com), as well as on CD-ROM and DVD. Swiss financier Jacob Safra (a nephew of the late banking king Edmond Safra) owns the company.
