They brew it here; they brew it there; they brew this Danish beermaker's brands almost everywhere. Carlsberg Breweries makes more than 500 beer brands at some 80 breweries worldwide. Selling big-name brands Carlsberg, Tuborg, and Baltika, as well as smaller regional and local brands, Carlsberg Breweries is Denmark's dominant brewer. It's also the fourth largest brewery in the world, its beers available throughout Europe and Asia. The company also makes and sells Coca-Cola in Denmark and Finland. In 2008 Carlsberg's parent company and Heineken acquired Irish brewer, Scottish & Newcastle (now called Heineken UK), for $15.3 billion. The philanthropic Carlsberg Foundation controls 73% of the company's voting power.
