After leading his financial news and information company to success, Michael Bloomberg left to lead the Big Apple in 2002. The company's core product is the Bloomberg Professional, a service terminal that provides real-time, around-the-clock financial news, market data, and analysis. Bloomberg is among the world's largest providers of such devices. The company also has a syndicated news service, publishes books and magazines, and disseminates business information via TV (Bloomberg Television), radio, and the Web. Michael Bloomberg founded the company in 1981; he owns about 70% of the firm.
