A leading food and beverage distributor, the company supplies its 22,000 customers, including restaurants, hotels, schools, and other institutional foodservice operators in 11 Southern states with a bevy of food and non-food products from its six distribution centers. Ben E. Keith is also one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors, delivering beer to customers in some 60 Texas counties. Founded in 1906 as Harkrider-Morrison, the company assumed its current name in 1931 in honor of Benjamin Ellington Keith, who served as the firm's president until 1959. It is controlled by Robert and Howard Hallam.
