Belying its name, Austin Industries is actually based in Dallas. The company provides civil, commercial, and industrial construction services in the South and Southwest. Its oldest subsidiary, Austin Bridge & Road, provides road, bridge, and parking lot construction across Texas. (It built the longest bridge in Texas, the Queen Isabella Causeway.) Subsidiary Austin Commercial builds office buildings, technology sites, hospitals, and other commercial projects. The group's Austin Industrial provides construction, maintenance, and electrical services for the chemical, refining, power, and manufacturing industries. The employee-owned company, which prides itself on its employee relations, was founded in 1918.
