Making tennis balls feel soft and Jell-O pudding taste smooth are just two of the things that Milliken & Company does. One of the world's largest private textile and chemical companies, Milliken produces more than 19,000 products, including carpets, apparel, automotive fabrics, mattress barriers, and wall coverings. It also makes chemicals and colorants that infuse such products as Crayola markers and liquid laundry detergent, make plastic food containers clear, and serve additional purposes in the automotive, consumer products, and turf markets. Milliken operates more than 55 plants globally and one of the largest textile research centers in the world. The Milliken family controls the company.
