Ingram Industries is heavy into books and boats. Ingram Book Group is one of the largest wholesale book distributors in the US; it ships books, as well as music, DVDs, and videos to retail outlets. It also ships internationally through its Ingram International arm. Ingram Marine Group operates Ingram Barge and ships grain, ore, and other products through about 4,000 barges and 100 boats. The Ingram family, led by chairman Martha (Rivers) Ingram (one of America's wealthiest active businesswomen), owns and runs Ingram Industries and controls about 20% of the shares of Ingram Micro (a top computer products wholesaler).
