The company is one of the leading poultry processors in the US with vertically integrated operations that take chickens and turkeys from the incubator to grocers' meat cases, delis, and freezers. It sells poultry products mostly under the Foster Farms brand. In addition to the retail market, Foster Poultry Farms supplies customers in the foodservice industry, including restaurants and other hospitality operators. It also grinds its own feeds. The family-owned company was started in 1939 by Max and Verda Foster. The Foster family also owns and operates sister company Foster Dairy Farms.
