Blimpie isn't wimpy when it comes to subs. Blimpie International operates the #3 submarine sandwich chain (behind Subway and Quiznos), with about 1,600 franchised locations in the US and more than a dozen other countries. Its sub shops serve hot and cold sandwiches, wrap-style sandwiches, salads, and soups. Blimpie locations include free-standing shops, as well as on-site locations in convenience stores, malls, office complexes, and other high-traffic areas. The company also franchises smaller chains, including Maui Tacos, Pasta Central, and Smoothie Island. Founded by Anthony Conza in 1964, Blimpie International is owned by Kahala Corp.
