Yes, you can go north by Northwest -- and other directions, as well. Northwest Airlines, which has agreed to be acquired by Delta Air Lines, transports passengers and cargo to about 240 cities in North America, the Asia/Pacific region, and Europe from hubs in Detroit, Memphis, and Minneapolis/St. Paul, as well as Amsterdam and Tokyo. Its US network includes destinations served by regional carriers flying as Northwest Airlink. Northwest's fleet includes about 360 jets; regional partners operate another 210 aircraft. It extends its network via code-sharing deals with fellow members of the SkyTeam marketing alliance, which includes carriers such as Air France Continental Airlines, Delta, KLM and Korean Air Lines.
