Capitol Broadcasting Company is a diversified media company that operates five television stations serving the North Carolina markets of Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington. The portfolio of TV stations includes affiliates of CBS, FOX, The CW, and MyNetworkTV. It also has about 10 radio stations. In addition to TV and radio, Capitol Broadcasting owns Microspace Communications, a satellite data services provider, and technology developer CBC New Media Group. The company also has interests in real estate and it owns the Durham Bulls minor league baseball team. The family-owned company was started by A.J. Fletcher in 1937.
