Nothing as archaic as ribbons and typewriters adorn the shelves at ARC (Austin Ribbon & Computer). The old-school name belies a modern firm offering IT products and services to state government, education, and health care customers throughout Texas. It sells Dell, HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Gateway, and about 380 other brands of computers, peripherals, and supplies. (The company is the largest supplier of Dell computers to Texas government.) ARC also provides IT services from single computer fixes to office-wide system design, installation, and maintenance. Customers include the Texas Lottery Commission, City of Dallas, The University of Texas at Austin, Edinburg ISD, and University Health Systems San Antonio.
