The software company makes a 3-D golf simulator that -- using a club and ball -- allows golfers to play virtual representations of actual courses. Aboutgolf sells mostly indoor simulators to golf stores like Golf Galaxy and PGA Tour Superstores and other golf-related businesses, but the company also offers its simulator with portable capabilities for home or temporary uses. Aboutgolf has roots that go back to the late 1980s, when current CEO and founder Bill Bales (along with his brother) started a golf game software company called Friendly Software Corp., from which Aboutgolf was born.
