Whichever way the thermostat turns, it generates cool cash for AAON. Through subsidiaries, the company manufactures rooftop air-conditioning and heating equipment for commercial and industrial uses primarily in the US. AAON produces five types of rooftop air-conditioning products with cooling sizes ranging from two tons to 230 tons. (Typical commercial buildings require one ton of cool air for every 300 to 400 sq. ft.) The company estimates that it has a 13% share of the rooftop market. AAON also makes air handlers, condensing units, chillers, coils, and boilers. It serves the new construction and replacement markets.
