Everyone started to nibble at this company's cheese when it went up on the chopping block. Australian Co-operative Foods (doing business as Dairy Farmers) went up for sale in 2008. The dairy co-op's farmers produce cheese, milk, yogurt, and other dairy products under such brand names as Dairy Farmers, Thick & Creamy, SKI, Cracker Barrel, COON, Shape, and moove. It also sells dare-brand iced coffee beverages and Berri juices. The group owns and operates about 10 processing plants in Australia; exports its products to Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East; and sells its products in more than 40,000 Australian retail outlets. Dairy Farmers, founded in 1900, was acquired by Australia's National Foods in August 2008.
