AES Sul Distribuidora Gaúcha de Energia (better known as AES Sul or simply Sul) works hard to keep its customers well connected. The Brazilian power distribution company accounts for about 95% of the power supply of the country's southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. It produces, distributes, and transmits electricity in more than 100 metropolitan and midwestern cities. In addition, the company operates subsidiary AES Florestal (acquired in 1997), a forestry and wood treatment company. AES Sul is a subsidiary of leading independent power producer US-based AES Corporation.
