Cypress Sharpridge Investments is a real estate investment trust (REIT) created to invest in Fannie Mae-, Freddie Mac-, and Ginnie Mae-guaranteed residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), primarily collateralized by adjustable-rate mortgage loans. Investment funds are secured through major commercial banks, brokerage firms, specialty investors, and other asset management companies. It holds a portfolio valued at some $690 million. Founded in 2006, the REIT is externally managed by Cypress Sharpridge Advisors, a joint venture between private equity firm The Cypress Group and Sharpridge Capital Management.
