AGF Private Equity provides asset management services, specializing in investment funds and venture capital. The Allianz subsidiary invests in between E150 million and E250 million in private equity funds annually, with E2.5 billion spread across some 120 mainly European funds. It targets funds of funds, discretionary mandates (gate keeping agreements), and dedicated funds involved in European private equity. AGF's venture capital team has an investment portfolio made up of about 80 European companies and manages more than E500 million. Its venture capital activities focus on both young and more mature companies in information technology (alchimer) and life sciences (Biotie Therapies).
