Griffon has its fingers in a number of pies -- a wide variety of pies, in fact. Its largest division is Clopay Plastic Products, which develops and makes specialty plastic films for use in disposable diapers, adult incontinence products, medical garments, and surgical drapes. Clopay Building Products makes residential and commercial garage doors. (Both Clopay units are part of subsidiary Clopay Corporation.) Finally, Telephonics makes advanced information and communications products used in radar, air-traffic control, and defense systems. The US government accounts for most of Telephonics' sales, but the firm also serves commercial and foreign clients. The US accounts for about 70% of Griffon's overall sales.
