When health care is no longer optional, there is Option Care. Through a national network of more than 100 pharmacies and franchised locations, Option Care provides specialty pharmacy services and home infusion (intravenous or IV) therapies. The company also sells infusion pharmaceuticals and equipment and provides nursing and respiratory therapy services. The company provides training, marketing, and operating support to its franchisees that obtain patient referrals from hospitals, doctors, and insurance companies. In 2007, Option Care was acquired by WalgreenCo. and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the drug store giant.
