Those who fear not knowing their place in the world should Trimble. Trimble Navigation makes systems and software based on the US government-owned global positioning system (GPS) satellite network. The company's surveying, mapping, and marine navigation equipment tracks time, longitude, latitude, and altitude. Trimble also makes devices that track ground vehicle and aircraft fleets, as well as timing devices to synchronize communications equipment. Its products are used in engineering, construction, asset management, and agricultural applications. Customers include Robert Bosch and Caterpillar (with which Trimble shares a joint venture). Trimble also runs a joint venture with Nikon.
