Carso Infraestructura y Construcción (CICSA), or Carso Infrastructure and Construction, builds on a large scale. A unit of Grupo Carso, CICSA provides construction services in Mexico and focuses on the installation of pipelines, construction of chemical and petroleum facilities (through its subsidiary Swecomex) and infrastructure and civil construction (through its CILSA subsidiary). The company entered the housing industry in 2007 when it bought Mexican home builder Urvitec. Projects have included hospitals, roads, chemical tankers, sports stadiums, and heat exchangers. Grupo Carso head Carlos Slim offered 26% of CICSA to the public in 2005.
