UTC Fire & Security, a division of United Technologies, is a global provider of fire safety and security products and services. UTC Fire & Security offers fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire and explosion suppression systems, and other fire-fighting and fire-control products through its Chubb and Kidde units. Security offerings through its Onity and Lenel businesses include electronic security (access control and video surveillance), as well as cash delivery and collection, alarm monitoring, and security guards. UTC Fire & Security was created in 2005 when United Technologies acquired Kidde PLC and combined its operations with those of Chubb plc (UTC had acquired Chubb in 2003).
