Avago Technologies designs, develops, and supplies analog semiconductors (III-V), optoelectronics, radio-frequency and microwave components, and application-specific integrated circuits (custom chips). Its products are used in a broad range of applications, including mobile phones, consumer electronics, computing peripherals, enterprise and telecommunications networking gear, optical mice, automotive electronics, and military and aerospace systems. Avago manufactures primarily in Asia and gets about 80% of its sales outside the US; it operates design centers in the US, Asia, and Europe. In August 2009 Avago completed an initial public offering (IPO) of 49,680,000 ordinary shares.
