Alliance Holdings GP owns Alliance Resource Management GP, which is the managing general partner of coal mining company Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. That company has eight coal mining complexes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Maryland, plus other coal interests in West Virginia. Alliance Holdings GP generates revenue from its general partnership interest and its 42% ownership stake in Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. The Alliance companies have been assembled by Joseph Craft III, who is chairman, president, CEO, and majority owner of Alliance Holdings GP.
