It's two-faced, but there's no calumny involved at Calumet Specialty Products Partners. The specialty hydrocarbon producer operates in two business segments -- specialty products and fuel products. The specialty products unit processes crude oil into lubricating oils, solvents, waxes, and other petroleum products. It sells these items primarily to industrial customers who use them in the manufacture of basic automotive, consumer, and industrial goods. The fuel products unit processes crude oil into unleaded gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel. Calumet Specialty Products Partners also produces asphalt. The company is majority owned by the families of chairman Fred Fehsenfeld and CEO William Grube.
