Marine transportation company Avin International maintains a fleet of about 20 crude-oil carriers and product tankers of various sizes. Overall, its vessels have a capacity of more than 1.2 million deadweight tons (DWT). Avin International does much of its business in the Mediterranean and between Europe and the US; customers include major petroleum companies. Greece's Vardinoyannis family owns a controlling stake in Avin International, which was founded in 1977.
