AmWINS is rarely at a loss when it comes to insurance. The company is among the largest wholesale insurance brokers in the US (along with Swett & Crawford and Crump). The group sells insurance products --including property/casualty, group benefits, and specialty coverage -- to retail brokers across the country. It also provides underwriting of specialty insurance products for niches including armored cars, broadcasters, and Domino's franchise owners. The company offers additional services such as administration and actuarial services for some products. Private equity firm Parthenon Capital acquired a majority stake in AmWINS in 2005.
