Infinity Pharmaceuticals acts on the endless possibilities for new cancer treatments. The firm develops small-molecule anti-cancer drugs for applications in many types of cancer therapy. Its most advanced candidate is retaspimycin, which is in clinical trials for gastrointestinal, lung, and prostate cancers. Other cancer drugs in the pipeline are in discovery or early development phases. Infinity Pharmaceuticals has licensing or collaborative development partnerships with companies such as Novartis, Amgen, and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development. In 2006 Infinity merged with Discovery Partners International (DPI) in a reverse merger that made Infinity a public company.
