Urban development is the name of the game for Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos. The company is one of the largest residential developers in Mexico, primarily targeting lower-and middle-income buyers. Urbi is the largest master-planned community builder in the northern states; it has also expanded into other metropolitan areas and midsized cities. Recent new markets include Mazatlan, San Luis Potosi, and Aguascalientes. Urbi builds some 25,000 homes each year; it has a landbank of some 48 million sq. meters, or enough capacity to build more than 250,000 homes. The company has built more than 300,000 homes since it was founded in 1981 .
