When faced with an orthopedic dilemma, DePuy Spine shows a lot of backbone. The company, a subsidiary of DePuy (itself a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson), develops and manufactures devices and equipment used in spinal surgery. Its product line covers every spinal surgery option, and includes everything from spinal fusion and disc replacement products to external fixation devices, plates and rods for fixing spinal fractures, and devices used to correct spinal deformities. The company is designing an increasing number of its products for use in minimally invasive surgeries. Additionally, DePuy Spine makes and sells biologic products, such as bone grafting materials.
