Axolotl provides hospitals and healthcare systems with Web solutions to share clinical information. Its product suite, called Elysium, automates health information exchange (HIE) between hospitals, clinics, labs, radiology centers, and their affiliated physicians. The company's name is derived from the axolotl, a salamander that can regenerate legs, tails, heart muscles, and even spinal cords; researchers have long studied them in hopes of learning how to restore diseased heart tissue or damaged limbs in humans. Axolotl (the company) was founded in 1995.
