Home Depot of Canada operates about 175 giant warehouse stores in 10 Canadian provinces and holds the #2 spot in the Canadian home improvement market behind RONA (with about 695 stores). The Canadian subsidiary of the world's largest home improvement retailer, US-based The Home Depot, caters to do-it-yourselfers as well as professionals in the building trades. Home Depot Canada stores stock, on average, 40,000-50,000 kinds of building materials, tools and hardware, lawn and garden products, and home improvement supplies. The stores also sell appliances. Home Depot first brought its big-box hardware stores to the Canadian market in 1994.
