ArcelorMittal USA ranks as the nation's top steel producer, ahead of U.S. Steel and Nucor, and maintains about 20 facilities (including integrated plants, electric arc furnace plants, and finishing facilities), mostly in the Midwest. Its primary market is the automotive industry, but it also serves makers of appliances, industrial machinery, and packaging products. In addition to long carbon and flat carbon steel products, ArcelorMittal USA also makes tinplate and wire rod. Parent company ArcelorMittal is far and away the world's largest steel producer; ArcelorMittal USA is its representative in the US.
